We all have seen what \u201clove\u201d and Valentine\u2019s Day are supposed to look like. We see it on movies, commercials, read it in books, talked about it, and have seen ads about love, Valentine\u2019s Day, romance, and feelings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The English word \u201clove\u201d has been used in reference to a \u201cstrong affection or feeling for another.\u201d What if I told you that the majority of people have been fed a false version of love? T<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>he Bible describes love as \u201cagape\u201d which is patient and kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends&#8221; (1 Cor. 13:4-8a). Love is action and a choice, not a feeling that shifts on circumstances, gifts, and temporary situations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Agape love is unconditional, divine, and selfless love. Most of us have been taught a love that doesn\u2019t fit into this verse above and the actual meaning of love. We have been robbed of the truth and left with an empty, unsatisfying hole where this biblical love is meant to be. So, I want to encourage you today, where ever you are, whether you\u2019re in a relationship or single, to shift your thoughts on what love is, to align more with the truth of agape biblical love. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In doing so, the way you love will change and radiate out to everyone around you. This kind of love can be applied to all types of relationships and even strangers. This is real love. The type of love Christ demonstrated on the cross for each and every one of us. He took action and chooses us even when we fail Him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read these verses today as you think about love:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2022 John 3:16<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2022 1 Corinthians 13:4-13 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 1 John 4:12-20 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 1 Peter 4:8 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Ephesians 3:16-17<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2022 John 15:12-13<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2022 Roman 13:8<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2022 John 13:34<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Valentine\u2019s Day!
